Every year more than three million children
nationally are reported as being abused or neglected.
Despite the States’ attempt to help, many of these
children become trapped in court and the child welfare
maze, and can spend their childhood moving from one
temporary shelter to another.
This is where you step in by becoming a Guardian ad
Litem (GAL) Volunteer.
GAL Volunteers review records, research information, and
talk to everyone involved in their cases. This may
include Social Workers, Attorneys, Judges, Parents,
teachers, family members and most importantly, the
children themselves.
“It’s about helping a child replace a life of hurt with
one of hope.”-Genora Brimfield, GAL Volunteer.
Become a GAL Volunteer and be rewarded with some of the
most powerful and fulfilling experiences you can find.
Only the GAL volunteer program empowers everyday
citizens as appointed officers of the court. Your
involvement will make a direct impact on a Childs life
and perhaps for generations to come.
